Cutting and Matching Stone to Perfection
Our work began on-site, where we carefully cut all the stone to ensure it matched the original building’s unique materials and peculiar markings. Every piece was meticulously shaped to complement the existing structure, ensuring our new additions seamlessly integrated into the historic home.
This attention to detail became especially important when replicating a specific, unusual mark present on the original stone, a subtle yet distinctive feature that carried historical significance. By carefully observing, cutting, and shaping, we created a result that made it almost impossible to distinguish the old stone from the new.
A Stunning Spiral Staircase and Cellar Transformation
The second part of our task was to dig out a brand-new cellar and install steps leading to the lower level. From there, we crafted a bespoke spiral staircase to connect the cellar with the original house.
The staircase was another opportunity for our team to showcase the delicate balance between traditional aesthetics and modern precision. Designed and installed with expert craftsmanship, it faithfully mirrors the character of the original architectural details.
An Almost Indistinguishable Transition
From the cellar steps to the spiral staircase, we took on every part of the job, from planning and excavation to stone cutting and installation. The result? A cohesive blend of old and new that is so seamless, even a trained eye would find it hard to tell where the original structure ends and our work begins.
